Gene Estrada
Field Team Leader and Collaborator

Gene Estrada

Gene Estrada started as a research assistant collecting data on primate behavior in the field during the summer of 2014, then he came back to Peru with us for the next two years as a research team leader. Since that time, he has been admitted to a PhD program in biological anthropology at the University of Michigan, and has been studying the dietary and community ecology of Indonesian primates at the Gunung Palung National Park in Borneo. Gene has also been working with one of FPI’s associate research scientists, Effie Robakis, on her tamarin vocalization project, focusing mostly on the spatial analysis (GPS data) side of things.
