Giving Tuesday 2015
For this year’s Giving Tuesday we are launching a drive to purchase two telemeters, which are essential for both our research and for our educational programs. Radio telemetry has enabled us to track many emperor and saddleback tamarin groups in the Peruvian Amazon over a period 6 years of study. In addition, these units are also essential for the field biology training that we offer during our Tropical Biology & Primatology courses, allowing students from around the world to practice locating and following the radio-collared primates that are used in our field studies.

We are seeking to acquire two R-1000 Telemetry Receivers, which are handheld units allowing for easier maneuvering through dense jungle on long, all-day follows in the field. They cost $700 each, and are necessary not just for expanding our research capabilities in Peru, but also for our research and educational efforts at our newest field site in India.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, any donation to Primates Peru (DBA Field Projects International) is tax-deductible. Please consider supporting us this holiday season. Not only will you be assisting research on primate communication, parasite ecology, dispersal behavior, and more, but you’ll be also be helping to train new biologists and ecologists from all over the globe.
