We are a collection of researchers and educators with a passion for wildlife biology, tropical ecology, and conservation.
Dr. Erkenswick is a Co-Founder and the Executive Director for Field Projects International. He oversees a portfolio of interdisciplinary projects focused on capacity building, environmental monitoring, and biodiversity conservation. A cornerstone of his work is the coordination of the In Situ Laboratory initiative, which seeks to democratize access to molecular diagnostics and research tools in biodiverse yet under-resourced regions. This initiative represents a confluence of technology, education, and wildlife health, and reflects Dr. Erkenswick’s broader commitment to equitable access to scientific infrastructure. The program is currently active in Peru, Rwanda, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
Dr. Erkenswick’s prior work bridges wildlife research and big data analytics, grounded in a deep commitment to field-based science and conservation. His academic and professional contributions span a range of disciplines, including parasite ecology, infectious disease, primate natural history, ecotoxicology, and applied genetics.
